MODEL COMPARISON: 2019 ACURA ILX VS 2019 LEXUS IS 300
As two of the most popular small sedans on the road today, the Acura ILX, and the Lexus IS offer buyers exceptional levels of luxury, reliability, and pure driving pleasure. However, while the two go toe-to-toe in many categories, it should be noted that the MSRP for the Acura ILX comes in at about twenty-five percent less than that of the Lexus IS 300. Here's a look at how the base trims of this year's Acura ILX and Lexus IS 300 matchup in the categories of exterior design, interior comfort and technology, and standard safety.
Exterior
As with prior models, this year's ILX and IS 300 boast a confident stance, aerodynamic design, and sport styling. The IS 300 gets a traditional Lexus hourglass-shaped grille, while the 2019 Acura ILX features an updated four-piece Diamond Pentagon Grille flanked by Jewel Eye LED headlights. A power moon-roof with tilt and slide function comes standard on all ILX trims or as part of an upgrade package on the IS 300.
Interior
Dual-Zone, automatic climate control with air filtration comes standard on both base models. The ILX also adds a humidity control, for added comfort. Other standard amenities include leather upholstery, heated front seats, push-button ignition, and an eight-way power adjustable driver's seat with power lumbar support. Both vehicles also get top-of-the-line sound systems with ten speakers, satellite radio, and Bluetooth connectivity. Acura's premium audio system also supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Pandora music streaming.
Safety
Both vehicles take safety to new levels with advanced features such as Collision Mitigation Braking, Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and rear-view cameras. As with all Acura models, Advanced Compatibility Engineering employed on the body structure provides an additional level of safety for ILX passengers.
