2024 Acura Integra vs 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class
2024 Acura Integra vs 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class
The 2024 Acura Integra and the 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class are two compact luxury sedans that offer style, performance, and advanced technology. Check the specifications of both these vehicles.
Notable Changes from the Previous Year
For the 2024 Acura Integra, the most significant change is the introduction of the Type S variant, set to join the Acura lineup in the summer of 2023. With more power and a sportier design, the Type S adds to the performance variants in the TLX and MDX lines that bear this badge. Besides that, the base Integra is not expected to have any significant changes for its sophomore year.
In contrast, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class receives a light refresh. This includes a reworked front end with a revised grille and a tweaked rear end featuring a new diffuser. Additionally, the previously available Parking and Mirror packages are now included as standard equipment. The CLA-Class also offers two new exterior colour options, Hyper Blue and Starling Blue, as well as new interior trim elements and illuminated USB ports.
Infotainment and Technology Comparison Features
The Acura Integra has a standard 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster that can be reconfigured to display various information for the driver. It features a 7.0-inch infotainment display, which can be upgraded to a larger 9.0-inch unit as an option. Unlike other Acura models, the Integra forgoes the frustrating touchpad controller.
The Technology package available for A-Spec models adds a larger touchscreen, a wireless smartphone charging pad, a 5.3-inch head-up display, and three USB-C charging ports. All Integra models include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but wireless smartphone mirroring is only available with the Technology package. An eight-speaker stereo comes standard, with an optional Premium ELS Studio 3D stereo system with an incredible 16 speakers.
On the other hand, the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is equipped with the latest Mercedes-Benz infotainment system, which features a touchpad-equipped steering wheel and a control pad mounted on the console. The setup is user-friendly and can be easily configured. A standard 10.3-inch display is complemented by wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto smartphone integration, and the "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant. Additional options include SiriusXM satellite radio and an upgraded Burmester audio system with the Dolby Atmos sound experience.
Exterior Design and Interior Comfort Comparison
Acura has incorporated TLX sedan and RDX SUV styling cues into Integra's cabin, creating a cohesive and familiar look within the brand's lineup. The base Integra comes with heated sports seats wrapped in faux-leather upholstery, featuring eight-way power adjustments for the driver.
While the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is one of the more affordable models in the brand's range, its interior maintains the luxury expected of a Mercedes-Benz. The center stack boasts a clean and modern design, highlighted by three artful circular air vents. The front seats offer spacious comfort, but the second row has limited headroom due to the car's sloping roofline.
Performance Features Comparison
Under the hood, the standard Acura Integra has a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine that delivers 200 horsepower. All trims feature front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The performance-oriented Type S trim has a significantly more potent turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four engine delivering 320 horsepower.
In the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, all models are powered by a hybridized 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. This engine incorporates a belt-driven starter-generator connected to a 48-volt power supply. It produces a peak output of 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, similar to the previous year. The hybrid system from Mercedes adds 13 horsepower in the lower rpm range.
Safety and Driver Assistance Features Comparison
Both the Acura Integra and the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class prioritize safety and offer a range of driver assistance features. The Integra is standard with automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control.
