How to Change Acura MDX Key Battery

The steps to replace a battery from an Acura key fob are pretty generic; however, may differ slightly depending on the model of vehicle and type of key fob. One thing is for certain Acura key fobs use the same kind of battery; a CR2032 Button Cell battery. The following instructions should work for the majority of the Acura lineup including the sport ILX, sleek TLX, exquisite RDX, and seven-passenger MDX.
Acura Battery Replacement: Acura Smart Key
- Press the tab and remove the spare metal key
- Take the metal key and place it in the space it came from. Then pry open the fob creating two pieces
- Grab a flat screwdriver and pop out the old battery
- Insert the new battery with the + logo facing towards you
- Take the other half of the key fob and push it back together. You should hear two clicks.
- Insert the metal key back into its slot
- That's it you're all done
Acura battery replacement: Acura Keyless Remote
- Press the tab and remove the spare metal key
- Locate a standard flat head screwdriver and gently pry open the key fob. There should be a small groove to get the screwdriver into.
- Remove the two batteries
- Replace with two new batteries
- Take the two halves and snap them back together.
